A rare nice day in March turned into a great day on the trail.
After a long winter, and too many mindless miles spinning on the trainer, the temperature hovered in the high 60's and it was time to ride outside.
Was a ride on the Capital Trail such a good idea?
As I pulled the bike jersey off the rack in my closet, the coat hanger popped out and landed on the floor. For a moment, I thought
The Covered Bridge Metric Century
By the time it started raining, I didn't care anymore. Nothing was going to ruin this day. We had biked through five or six covered bridges, the Amish farms were spectacular and the Amish themselves were
A great bicycle weekend with history, alpacas and a renewed steel bike.
As you ride toward Jamestown the trail takes on different character.
The last time we rode the Capital Trail it was a chance to break in Mary's brand new gravel
As I wrote in my initial blog about the Covered Bridge Metric Century, this is really a bucket list ride.

I ride mountain, road and gravel bikes in the rugged country surrounding my home in Roanoke, Va. Photography, video editing, writing, and social media are sources of enjoyment for me, so this blog is really a guilty pleasure. According to Strava (and most group rides!) I'm an intermediate cyclist. My bikes include a 1996 Waterford steel road bike. Off road, it's a Cannondale Trigger 3. My Gravel bike is a Fuji Jari. Like most of you, I'm always dreaming about the next bike to join the stable. So many bikes, so little time.
