Biking4Boomers joins the The Carlin the Cyclist blog, which has been around for a while. I wanted to add a video channel, so I could actually take you to the places we travel and show you some of the gear and bikes I ride and appreciate.

So, I started Biking4Boomers! I wrote about it on my blog, but this section of the website will also showcase the videos.

Here is the introductory Biking4Boomers video!

This short video show you what Biking4Boomers is all about

In the meantime, if you’re looking to read about some of the places I’ve already been, check out Riding the Going to the Sun Road in Montana, or the Covered Bridge Ride in Pennsylvania.

Let me go back to the post where I wrote about my dream of driving my 1994 Minnie Winnie around the country, finding cool places to ride. The plan was (is?) to go to different places, check out the road, mountain or gravel cycling, then write about them here on the blog and add a video component.

Of course the information would be open (and hopefully interesting) to any cyclist — but it would be pointed at the Baby Boomer generation.

Why write for Baby Boomers?

When I ride the roads and trails here in western Virginia, I’d estimate at least half of the riders I see are in my general age bracket. And why not? I’m at a point where I still want to go do stuff. The kids are grown and gone. My body can’t handle running anymore but the wander lust is still there and Mary and I have accumulated a garage full of bicycles.

Add in the COVID-19 pandemic purchase of an antique motor home and I’m getting pretty close to my dream of traveling, bicycling and presenting these adventures to the public.

I will admit that one of the things I need to make the video channel work is some public to which I can present. In other words, I need people to find and watch the videos. if You do, please consider liking them, leaving a comment and subscribing to the channel. Anything to tell the YouTube algorithm that there is interest there!

If you don’t enjoy them — that’s on me — but I’ll do my best.

Thanks again for reading and watching!
