Taking the Biking 4 Boomers message to Daytime Blue Ridge on WSLS-TV 10.
Roanoke, Va. (3/5/2021) Biking4Boomers is just a fledgling idea. A dream with just a few dozen views on YouTube.
Check out Biking 4 Boomers on YouTube.
And somehow it’s landed on Daytime Blue Ridge, the lifestyle show that airs daily on WSLS 10 at 12:30 Monday through Friday.

Ok — it’s more about who you know – or in my case — what you do. As most of you know I am a long-time news anchor at WSLS and Lindsey (in the blue dress) co-anchors the 5 & 6 pm newscasts with me.
Because of COVID, we still can’t have guests in the station, so everybody is doing Zoom interviews, which is getting old.
In other words, they were desperate.
So, you’re saying there’s a chance…
So I agreed to suit up and introduce gravel bikes to the audience.
I’m amazed at how many of the people on staff were not aware of gravel bikes or gravel biking.
I guess I’m a bit too close to it.
Be that as it may, a gravel bike is a great way to get your leg back over the bar, if you haven’t been on a bike for a while.
Or even a decade.
If you remember my blog post from last year, where I talked about my retirement dream of driving around the country in my vintage Minnie Winnie RV, riding bikes in new places and talking about it on YouTube and writing about it here — then you can see that I’ve advanced the cause just a bit.
The weather’s been typically bad for winter in Roanoke, and the RV is in storage.
So I’ve done a couple of videos about mountain biking — but even my wife, Mary said I haven’t found my Biking 4 Boomers voice.
Yet.
If you can — do me a favor. Go to the Biking4Boomers Youtube channel and subscribe. It’s been a bit anemic.
In the meantime, I promise to upgrade the content with more and better videos.
Who knows? Maybe I’ll find my voice and someday they’ll ask me to be on Daytime because I actually deserve it.
